Sen. Cornyn urges votes for new economic rescue bill

Some members of the House of Representatives who voted against the last economic rescue bill have said they will change their vote this time.

Today, we spoke with Senator John Cornyn on the phone. Last night, he voted for the bill.

Senator Cornyn says he's been in contact with Representatives Louie Gohmert and Jeb Hensarling, and they're just as frustrated as he is about the situation.

"I'm sure they're going to vote their conscience and I'm not going to quibble with their decision. I just felt like in the Senate, we had a job to do, we stepped up and did it. Now the House of Representatives is going to have to look at this new package which I think has significantly improved from what the Whitehouse originally sent over. But this is still quite a bitter pill to swallow," said Sen. Cornyn.

The House Representatives are expected to weigh in on the bill tomorrow.
