16 Kilgore College students honored with Presidential scholarships

Sixteen freshman recipients of the Kilgore College Presidential Scholarship were recognized at a banquet in the Devall Student Center Ballroom on the KC campus Sept. 29.

The presidential scholarship, KC's most prestigious academic scholarship, covers students' tuition, fees and books. Recipients must meet two of three requirements: (1) ACT composite score of 25 or above or SAT composite score of at least 1100; (2) high school grade average of 92 or above; or (3) rank in the top 10 percent of the high school class.

Other elements such as school and community involvement are also considered.  To keep the scholarship, students must maintain at least a 3.3 grade point average and must take at least 15 hours per semester.

Recipients by hometown are:

Alto: Clayton Scott.

Cushing: Ashley Pirtle.

Gladewater: Jennifer Wilcox.

Kilgore: Jesus Garcia, Kristin Gleghorn, Ryan Griffin, Dustin Mikusko, Annie Pack, Robert Shook II and Joseph Worden.

Longview: Charlene McKee.

Richardson: Nicole Ahlfinger.

Tatum: Rebecca Craig and Cassindra White.

White Oak: Cody Bryant.

Winona: Justina Allison.
