East Texans react to proposed Bailout Plan

Lawmakers have written the prescription--$700 billion.  It's not an easy pill to swallow.

"What are we going to do later?  That's a lot of money and that money has to be put back," said Nichole Vasquez.  Her husband, Danny Vasquez said the bailout plan was like asking your parents for money.

"But what about next week, or the next month."  Tom Elting said he doesn't know if the country has any options.  He just listed his home for sale a few weeks ago and hopes things will soon get rolling.

"I'm in a good neighborhood, convenient location.  I think all that is going to make it happen," he said.  Elting is confident--a rarity among sellers.

"We had an offer just right off the bat, and then when the market did the weird thing, the people got scared and they opted out," said Crystal Crisp.  She is a realtor and hosted an open house Sunday.  Crisp said she is now hoping some financial stability will make for a quicker sell for her sellers and others.  Many are simply optimistic progress is being made.

"What I'm excited about, is that they actually worked together and got something done because that was the critical issue," said Mel Morgan.
