Florida Man Charged with Hawkins Murder

A feud between two men leaves one dead and the other charged with his murder.

The story played out at a motel in Hawkins last night.

Forty-two year old Michael Darrell Fribley of Florida was arrested just after 8 last night after he allegedly shot and killed a man he was arguing with in the motel parking lot.

Witnesses told police the victim, 39 year old Marlin Jackson of Hawkins, confronted Fribley outside his room at the motel.

Police say, Fribley drew a handgun and began to fire, spraying the motel rooms, shooting out a van window, and dealing his victim deadly wounds.

Jackson was life-flighted to a Tyler hospital where he died. Fribley is being held in the Wood county jail on 100-thousand dollars bond.
