Almost all east Texans now have power after Ike

East Texas electric companies can soon take a rest.  The Cherokee County Electric Co-op says it's 99% restored.  About 100 of its customers in Cherokee County are still without power, a just more than a dozen in Rusk, Nacogdoches and Smith Counties.

One of Texas' largest utilities says its finished restoring power to East Texas homes and businesses.  Initially, ONCOR had about 108,000 customers without power.  ONCOR says it now has normal operations in the Lufkin, Nacogdoches and Tyler areas.  State officials say there are still, however, about 1.2 million Texans still in the dark.
