Longview schools slowly getting power back

Longview ISD now has only two schools with out power. That's down from their six schools that were without power yesterday.

Mozelle Johnson and Judson Middle School are still without power.

School administrators say their main reasons for closing the school was because they knew some students and their families were without power, as well as district employees.

But one of their main reasons for closing because of spoiled food.

"We're having to replenish our freezers and throw things out that could have possibly spoiled over the weekend and so those are some of the reason why we didn't have school for everyone or part of the school district opened and part of the school district closed," said Andrea Mayo, the assistant superintendent of Longview ISD.
