Game Changes Due To Hurricane Ike

With the approach of Hurricane Ike, several schools are rescheduling games.

The Longview Lobos were getting ready to play a road game against Barber's Hill, but instead will welcome national power Shreveport Evangel Friday night.

According to Brian Bowman of LISD, Barber's Hill canceled on the Lobos. Longview quickly arranged for another game to fill the hole in their schedule. Shreveport Evangel will play Longview at Lobo Stadium Friday, September 12 at 7:30.

Barber's Hill canceled the game because Highway 59 could possibly be used as an evacuation route, the highway leads through the school district.

Bowman said there will be no reserved seating that night.  Tickets are $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for students if purchased in advance, and $6.00 at the gate for everyone.

Also, Daingerfield and Celina have rescheduled their matchup. The game was to be played on Saturday but that is the day the storm is expected to hit north Texas. The game will now be played Friday night at Celina at 7:30 p.m.

Colmesniel and Cushing will play Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. at Bearkat Stadium. That game was originally scheduled for Friday.
