700 Texas Students Pack Green Acres For Seminar

For the first time, a huge state-wide seminar for college students is held in Tyler.  At Green Acres Baptist Church Saturday, more than 700 students from various universities around the state came together for the annual "FOCUS" seminar.

Students said they focus on a number of issues, from wanting to build relationships to strengthening their spiritual lives.

"Just the determination to come back to church on Sundays because I kind of stray a little far sometimes cause I don't have the determination to come back," said U.T. Tyler student Ashley Thomas."

"It's good to come here cause you get to focus on your purpose of being at the campus you're at, rather than just getting an education but actually trying to make a difference," Baptist Student Ministry leader at Howard Payne University L.J. McCulloch.  The students also learned about mission work they can get involved in.
