More than 100 eager east Texas ballerinas put on their dancing shoes and tu-tus Saturday morning to audition for T.J.C's production of the Nutcracker.
Young girls and boys were stretched and ready bright and early. Saturday morning, the youngest boys and girls learned some easy steps and then performed in front of the judges. Those with T.J.C's Academy of Dance say they're hoping to cast 150 dancers.
"I've been in the Nutcracker almost my entire life and to actually be on the other side and reap the rewards of the girls and the little boys dancing up there is one of the most rewarding things of my life," said Jennifer Bailey. "It's worth every blood, sweat and tear."
Tyler Junior College's Nutcracker will be performed in December along with the East Texas Symphony Orchestra, at U.T. Tyler's Cowen Center.
