72-Year-Old Jessup Sets Another World Record

Last year, Gerald Jessup of Flint of set a world record on his classic 1951 Triumph motorcycle.

Still, he was not happy with the results. So this week, at age 72, Gerald not only tried again, but Thursday set another world record.

Gerald recorded an average speed of 92.88 miles per hour Thursday in Bonneville Salt Flats, Utah. The speed set the new "500 Modified Vintage Gas" record.

The previous record was 76 miles per hour.

KLTV 7 Sports Director Maya Golden spoke to Gerald Thursday. Gerald said he had some problems with the motorcycle, they got it fixed and he will try again to improve on his time on Friday.

His goal is to reach the 100 miler per hour mark and he wants to make sure no one can easily beat his record.
