Army Specialist Davis returns to east Texas

He was wounded in a savage firefight in Afghanistan, where 9 Americans were killed.

Today Army Specialist Aaron Davis returned back home to east Texas.

Davis, a Purple Heart recipient was welcomed home by family, friends, even complete patriotic strangers.

Aaron suffered eye and leg injuries in the battle. Aaron says although he's getting all the attention, he can't take all the credit.

"I've been real inspired by guys who are hurt worst than I am. Seeing those guys it's just been like...really you know real eye opening even though I was there," said Davis.

"It's is overwhelming! Words can't even express how I feel and to see the love and support that he's gotten it's just so touching and moving for him to finally come home to East Texas," said Aaron's mom.

Members of Welcome Home Soldiers and the Patriotic Guard Rider showed up to welcome Specialist Davis home.

He will be here for 30 days.
