Jacksonville's Josh McCown Traded

Jacksonville's Josh McCwn has been traded from the Miami Dolphins to the Carolina Panthers.

The move came late Friday, one day after Panthers backup quarterback Matt Moore injured his leg against Pittsburgh in a pre
season game.
McCown signed with the Dolphins in the offseason after starting 33 games during six seasons in Arizona, Detroit and Oakland.

McCown had recently expressed no interest in being traded from the Dolphins. During training camp he was listed as the first quarterback on the depth chart before the Dolphins signed Chad Pennington. Pennington was officially named the Dolphins' starter last week.

McCown could serve as starting Panthers quarterback Jake Delhomme's backup.
