Another suspect is arrested in a counterfeit check scam. Debra Browning of Kilgore was arrested on forgery charges Thursday. Whitehouse police say Browning helped her son Shad Jones mastermind a $20,000 check-scam. Jones and two other woman were taken into custody earlier this week.
Investigators say the suspects created counterfeit checks using Tyler attorney Keith Miller's account number. Browning was once a client of Miller's. Police believe she got his account numbers from a settlement check from his office. She is in now in the Rusk County jail facing forgery charges.
