An empty building caught fire at Tyler Pipe tonight, and firefighters from Mineola, Tyler, and Lindale were called out to help fight it.

Thick black smoke could be seen from Highway 69. The fire apparently sparked from an outside crew who was cutting up old equipment for scrap metal when a spark started the blaze.

The building is located on the south end of the plant, and was used as a mold maker years ago. There are no injuries, and the fire is under control.
