After Patrick 'Booger Red' Kelly's verdict of guilty and sentence of life in prison came down, we sent another crew over to the Smith County courthouse. KLTV 7's Courtney Lane got reaction from district attorney Joe Murphy, and defense council Thad Davidson.
"I'm not actually sure which defendant is up next in the Mineola Swingers' Club case but we will go to whoever that lawyer is and we will say how can we help?" said Davidson, breaking down in tears. "I truly believe the man is innocent."
"We felt that they made the right decision. They believed the children and they ensured protection not only for these children but all the children of Smith County. They're survivors, they're going to continue to survive, and they're doing great," said Joe Murphy. "Terrible things happened to them, they'll never get over it but they are surviving they are coping and they are the most precious little kids you could ever hope to meet."
