Investigators aren't sure why a man got into the wrong car at the Greyhound bus station in downtown Tyler this morning - but, he was rewarded with guns drawn.
Derrick Powell had gotten off the bus at the stop, and then jumped into the back of a black Dodge Charger that was being driven by Smith County Investigators Cory Hoover and Kyle Benson. Drawing their guns, they immediately handcuffed the man and interviewed him.
Powell, 21, was taken in to custody on criminal trespassing charges. He was booked into the Smith County Jail. His bond is set at $500.00.
He does not have a criminal record in Smith County and his address is listed as Palmdale, California.
