Bank employee sentenced for theft

A 47 year old Atlanta, Texas woman has been sentenced to 14 months in federal prison and ordered to pay $290,834.34 in restitution to First National Bank in Atlanta after she was found guilty of stealing funds from the bank.

According to information presented in court, between September 2006 to July 2007, Arnold was employed as head bank teller with First National Bank in Atlanta, Texas.  During this time, she stole funds from the bank.  Arnold also admitted to placing $94,000 in counterfeit money in the bank's vault to conceal the thefts.  Arnold was found guilty of theft, embezzlement, or misapplication by a bank employee.  She must report to the U.S. Marshals Service in October to begin serving her prison sentence.
