Tyler Man Loses His Home In Fire

A Tyler man lost his home Tuesday afternoon in a fire.

The fire broke out on Elmridge Drive in South Tyler. The fire caused extensive damages, caving in a garage roof and charring a car parked inside. Firefighters called the home's interior a total loss.

Investigators say it took five units to knock down the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to nearby homes. The homeowner was in the house when it happened, but escaped without injury. Fire investigators believe it started in the garage.
