KLTV 7 sits down with $2 million jackpot winner

She took the day off from work and hit the jackpot! We first told you about Melissa Ray of Jacksonville last night. Ray walked into Eldorado Resort and Casino in Shreveport Wednesday just looking to have a good time, and walked out with more than $2 million dollars.

KLTV 7's Molly Reuter sat down with the lucky east Texan who now has the tough task of figuring out what to do with all that money.

It's been two days, but Melissa Gray's big win in Shreveport has not yet sunk in. In fact, her 2.1 million dollar check is still in her car.

I spoke to her today, and when we asked her if she thought she deserved the money, Gray replied, "Well, I don't know, but I'm glad I won it!"

Oh yeah - glad, happy, excited - you name it and Melissa has felt it.

Especially when the winning words Wheel Of Fortune popped up on her slot machine.

"I cried, and I was like nahh, pinch me you know just let me know this is real," said Gray.

It's real, Melissa! All 2 million, 158 thousand dollars of it.

"My Daddy was the first one to call," Gray told us. "He was like surely it was not that much, what was it, and I said I'm telling you that's what they said."

So now what?

Melissa, who has worked at Trane for 8 years, says she wants to continue working.

And the money?

"Pay my car off, pay my four wheeler off...I do want to do a vacation. I do want do that maybe go on a cruise," said Gray.

Mark Scrito even popped in to see the check. "Is this my rich new friend? What a lucky streak you're on, huh - look at that!"

Whatever happens, Melissa knows she can now call herself a millionaire.

Melissa has three children and four grandchildren and says she also plans to set up college funds for her grandkids. Before Wednesday, the most Melissa had ever won on a slot machine was $3,500 - which is also not bad.
