Rusk county shaken baby doing better, say hospital officials

Hospital officials tell KLTV 7 that a Rusk county baby who was allegedly beaten by his father is out of intensive care and making progress.

The 10 week old infant was rushed to a Dallas hospital last week after authorities found the baby with severe injuries.

Rusk county authorities say 24 year old Benjamin Terrence Rawls shook the baby until it started chocking and became unresponsive.

Rawls has been charged with felony injury to a child along with endangerment and abandonment of a child.
