Longtime Lobo Baseball Coach Resigns

After 11 seasons as the Longview Lobos' baseball coach, Joey Kalmus is resigning.

Longview athletic director Pat Collins told KLTV 7 Sports Kalmus will remain a teacher at Longview. Collins says Kalmus simply needed to step back from the game and coaching for a little while.

Coach Kalmus helped make the Lobos become a baseball playoff fixture after the 2000 season. In 2008, Kalmus led the Lobos to the area playoffs where they were defeated by Plano West.
