Longview Water Main Break Causes Disturbance In Longview

A fourteen inch water main line break caused quite some disturbance in Longview this morning.

Water shot out 80 yards across a parking lot after a main water line broke off of Cotton Street.

The city says they don't know what caused the line to break.

Fortunately, no one was injured, but one Tex-Air employee was parked right where the water line broke.

"He finally walked out and [saw] the water nearly blowing his truck off, and he ran and jumped in it and when he backed out he backed into one of our delivery vehicles and dented the rear end but other than that it's not too much damage," said Kevin Curvo, the owner of Tex-Air.

Several businesses and residents are without water.

The Water Department says they expect to have the water up and running by Tuesday evening.
