Gladewater's Thomas Home From The Hospital

One week to the day that he suffered heat exhaustion and became unresponsive at practice, Gladewater Bear Quinton Thomas is home from the hospital.

Bears' Coach Scott Callaway told KLTV 7 Sports Director Maya Golden that Thomas arrived back home in Gladewater Monday afternoon from Children's Hospital in Dallas.

Coach Callaway says Last Monday, Thomas became unresponsive after the first day of two-a-day practice. Temperatures reached 104 degrees in East Texas. Thomas was then taken by ambulance to Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview, where it was discovered he was having problems with his liver and kidney. Thomas was then taken by helicopter to Children's Hospital in Dallas to see a stomach specialist.
