It's hard to imagine, but the face of the Green Bay Packers for sixteen years is now a New York Jet. Rick Walston, football fan and owner of All-Star Barber Shop in Whitehouse said if you had told him this would happen last year, he wouldn't have believed it.
"No way," Walston said. "The fact that he's with the jets right now...I'm still stunned. I thought he would retire at Green Bay."
The Favre-Packers divorce has been messy, and tough on the fans. Randy Hanson is pretty disgusted.
"Brett Favre is dead to me," Hanson said. "I don't ever want to see him on Lambeau Field again, unless we're going against him, and that's five picks for us that day."
You I remember Randy from the "4th and 28" billboard he paid to put up in Green Bay after a playoff loss a few years ago. Randy see Favre's attitude in the negotiations as a betrayal.
"Watching how he acted," Hanson said, "this isn't the Brett Favre we used to know. This is Brett Favre, Inc., his ego and everything else, trying to force his way to get his way. Favre attacked the organization with pure venom. "
"To have such a great career and full support and throw it all away over a temper tantrum, that's the saddest part."
Favre is gone, and now the cheeseheads have turned.
"If it were up to me," Hanson said, "I wouldn't even retire that number."
