Elementary School Teacher Indicted For Stealing Pills From Student

An east Texas teacher has been indicted by a grand jury, accused of stealing prescription drugs from a student.

48 year old Lisa Kubena, a former Neches elementary teacher, was arrested by Anderson County Sheriff's deputies back in April.

Neches ISD says a concerned parent called them, saying several pills from her child's medication were missing.

School officials say they put a camera in the nurse's station, reportedly catching Kubena in the act.

Because the offense was in a drug free zone she could face up to ten years in prison and a fine of 10 thousand dollars.
