The city of Longview is making sure students are career ready.
Starting August 25th Hallsville, New Diana, Pine Tree, and Tatum High Schools will offer college level dual credit courses to students.
"It's a big thing for Longview students; but it's really a big thinking for Longview employees as well," said Mayor Jay Dean. "What we're trying to do is bring our industry with our school systems to try and prepare kids for the workforce here in Longview."
Twelve businesses and industries throughout east Texas are participating in the career academy program.
