The Dallas Cowboys are all out in California at training camp.
Offer not valid for Terry Glenn.
Dallas' young receivers had a chance to step up, now they have a position to aspire to. Guys like Sam Hurd, Patrick Crayton, and Miles Austin will get the practice time, because that number two receiver spot is open. Glenn was cut after they couldn't agree on his contract, and the Cowboys say they'll just have to get ready to play without him.
"It's sad that things didn't work out between managment and him," Terrell Owens said. "We just can't dwell on it."
"Sam Hurd had another nice play today," Cowboys coach Wade Phillips said. "Miles is catching the ball, and has great speed too. Those two guys, I think either one of them could come through for us."
"Patrick Crayton caught fifty passes last year, and he's a young receiver too. If he improves and gets more than that, that would be a good complement also."
"We just have to step up," Jason Witten said, "we don't have that extra guy to lean on. At the same time, it helps to have Marion, he's going to be a key component in the passing game."
Dallas signed both of their first round draft picks, and both made it to camp today. Running back Felix Jones made the entire second practice, while cornerback Mike Jenkins came on as practice started.
As expected, cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones has also been seeing time as the team's punt returner. In his two years in the league, he's had four touchdowns on punts.
HBO is back in the mix again they're filming training camp for their "Hard Knocks" series.
