Government Launching Wireless Amber Alerts

When a child goes missing, time is crucial in finding them.

The government is trying to speed up that response time with wireless Amber alerts.

Signing up for the program is free and takes about 30 seconds. Alerts are sent via text message to your cellular telephone at no charge for the text.

    An East Texas family is hoping someone can provide answers for a relative who turned up missing over the weekend. Family members reported that Felisha Pearson, 29, of Longview disappeared on Sunday and has not been seen or heard from since. According to a police report, Pearson was staying at the hotel with another person, left and never returned. Police say she left her cell phone at the hotel.
