Two Arrested For Auto Burglary In Tyler

Early Thursday morning, Tyler Police caught two men who had allegedly just broken into someone's vehicle on Barbara Street.

Samuel Isai Ortega, 17, and Josue Joel Rodrigues, 17, both of Tyler, were arrested on a dead end street close to Green Acres Baptist Church after fleeing from officers.

Tyler Police had been called by the victim of the auto burglary, who allegedly saw the suspects break into her vehicle, which was parked in her driveway, and steal her satellite radio.

When police arrived on the scene, Ortega and Rodrigues got into their car and fled, after which they were caught by officers.

Ortega was charged with burglary of vehicle and evading arrest.  Rodrigues was charged with burglary of  vehicle, unauthorized use of motor vehicle and failure to stop and render aid.

Several other items believed to be stolen were recovered from the suspect's vehicle and police will attempt to determine what other vehicles had been broken into during the night.
