Dolly has been declared a hurricane, and emergency personnel along the Texas coast are preparing for the worst.
In Tyler Tuesday morning, six ETMC EMS ambulances were loaded up with medical supplies, water and a strike team of 12. They are heading south and will go where they are needed.
"They can deploy us to a shelter, down near Brownsville, Corpus, wherever they need the extra ambulances or manpower," said Ed Brando, who is leading the team. "We are going because the state called us. They are going to go ahead and stage us in case they need us."
The Salvation Army also sent a crew with supplies south.
