The City of Whitehouse has put mandatory watering restrictions in effect for its residents until further notice.
Beginning today, residents with odd numbered addresses can use outdoor water only on odd numbered days, and residents with even numbered addresses can use outdoor water only on even numbered days.
The city put the restrictions in place to help combat high demand caused by the lack of rain in the East Texas area.
Whitehouse is builiding a 500,000 gallon storage tank to help with its water needs. The city expects that to be done around September or October of this year, and expects the mandatory watering restrictions to stay in place until construction on that tank is finished.
