Robber Takes Jewelry From Tyler Macy's

It was a classic smash and grab, and it only took two minutes.   Tyler police are looking for the man who robbed Macys early Saturday morning and got away with at least $10,000.00 worth of jewelry.  Around 6:00 a.m., police say a man broke through the store's front glass door.   Surveillance video shows the robber filling a bag full of jewelry.  Using some type of instrument, police say the man broke three glass jewelry cases, grabbed whatever he could his hands on and then fled the store.

"We weren't sure if it was one of those Trojan horse type of things where the person spent the night in the store and then broke the stuff and then fled with it, but after viewing the tape you can see clearly the subject came through the door, hit those three locations and then fled immediately, so he knew what he was doing," said Tyler Police Sergeant Bill Goecking.  "They were pretty professional."  Police are asking for anyone who might have seen something this morning to call the Tyler Police Department.
