Carnegie Award Presented Tuesday

Honors for an East Texan who charged into a burning home to rescue a man who could not rescue himself.

In April of 2007, Columbus Cook of Jacksonville ran into his neighbor's house 3 times to save 40 year old Darrion High, a mentally challenged man stranded in the home's bedroom.

Cook was awarded the nationally renowned Carnegie Medal for his bravery.

Tuesday, KLTV 7 photojournalist James Whitten takes us through the story of a man who heard the cries for help, and answered without a second thought.
