Girlfriend Made Up Story About Anderson County Sheriff's Candidate

A follow up tonight from Anderson County.

The girlfriend of an east Texas sheriff's candidate now says she made up the story about her boyfriend pushing and choking her.

The Democratic candidate for Anderson County Sheriff, Steven Quick, was arrested for assault Wednesday.

Today in court, the judge dismissed the emergency protective order after Quick's girlfriend filed an affidavit for non-prosecution.

Quick's attorney, James Hankins, told KLTV he expects the DA's office to drop all charges.
