Domestic Dispute Turns Fatal at Wal-Mart

It only took about ten minutes for 38 year old Anthony Vasquez to enter the Henderson Wal-Mart, chase his estranged wife into the restroom with a handgun, and begin a scenario that ended in death.

Henderson Police were on the scene quickly, and were fired on while trying to enter the restroom. The shot harmlessly hit the door, however. After hearing screams and another gunshot, the police bravely made their move.

"They felt like they had to go in due to the shots being fired," Henderson Deputy Police Chief Ronnie Wilson said, "And with the victim inside, for her safety they felt like they had to make entry into the restroom."

When they arrived, Anthony Vasquez had an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His wife was unharmed.

Although still under investigation, police feel this may have been the tragic end of a family dispute.
