Tyler Fire Department Doesn't Go Far For Warehouse Fire

Tyler firefighters were at their fire station on Shill road Sunday night when they heard a loud sound. They emerged to see a warehouse on fire less than a hundred yards away.

They speculate the fire in the unoccupied warehouse was caused by a transformer that fell over, and ignited. They put out the fire in under ten minutes, although traffic was briefly diverted for the impressive looking fire.

Captain Hector Nun said, "There was a lot of oil, so we had a lot of black smoke. It made the fire look pretty big, which it wasn't."

There was damage to the building, but no one was injured.
