Broussard Learns Valuable Lesson From Coach Miles

This time of year, quite a few East Texas football stars head to elite camps across the country.

But very few have the chance to train with the current national champion Coach Les Miles.

Lindale's Matt Broussard got that chance recently, attending the LSU football camp. Matt got encouraging tips from Coach Miles.

LSU won the national championship in January with Tyler's Matt Flynn and Ciron Black on the team.

Broussard said Coach Miles passed along a message he will take to heart.

"Before we left, at the end of camp, he talked to us and told us that the main thing to be able to play on that college level is to compete not only in sports but in school," Matt said. "He said the most successful people in life are the ones who compete in school, competing with other students for that higher GPA and competing for jobs and stuff like that. So, he said that's one of the most important things is to remember to compete in whatever you do not just sports."

Matt is a junior with the Eagles this season. He's having an exciting summer. Dave Campbell's

Texas Football

named Matt one of the Eagle players to watch.
