Tyler Police pulled a man out of a burning car early this morning.
29 year old Randall Ray Watson is in fair condition Monday night at East Texas Medical Center after being pulled from his car around 4:30 am near the intersection of Glenwood and Houston Streets.
A witness flagged down a Tyler Police officer and pointed out the burning car, saying a person could be inside it.
Officer Daniel Richardson pulled Watson from his car and he was transported to the hospital by ambulance. Officers Adam Colby and Darin Grissom showed up and helped him pull the driver from the car, his clothes still on fire.
"This was not just some smoke," said Officer Don Martin of the Tyler Police Department. "This was a fully engulfed vehicle and they definitely put their lives on the line to get him out."
The cause of the car fire is still under investigation. The car was almost completely destroyed.
