Classic cars, chuckwagons, and plenty of good times accented an annual parade dedicated to freedom. The annual Juneteenth parade made its way through Longview today on MLK Boulevard. A long procession of vintage cars and floats lined the roadway for the crowds.
"It means a whole lot to me because I look back to the 60's and see things we couldn't do and places we couldn't go and it means a whole lot to me" says parade watcher Shirley Rose.
"I think this day symbolizes freedom for everybody we're all one nation under god and everybody should celebrate their freedom" says fellow parade watcher Doris Harris.
Hundreds turned out to watch the parade which ended with a picnic at Broughton Park.
