Here are a few things you can do to keep you paying at the pump to a minimum.
First, keep the windows closed when driving at high speeds. Opening the windows causes air drag, reducing your mileage by 10 percent.
And, if you've got a lead foot--slow down! Traveling fast in low gears can consume 45 percent more fuel.
Also, buy gas at the coolest times of the day, early morning or late night is best. During these times, gasoline is the most dense--so you'll get more for your buck.
