Three people are behind bars this morning and on their way back to Garland in connection with a double murder investigation, and their getaway took them right through East Texas.
It all started Thursday morning when a bicyclist found the bodies of two men outside their Garland Christian recording studio. Our Dallas affiliate WFAA-TV reports the two killed were identified as Steve Swan and Matthew Butler. Police also said one of the victim's vehicles was taken.
Texarkana, Texas Police Sergeant Shawn Fitzgerald told KLTV 7 Friday morning three men were arrested after officers pulled them over Thursday night.
The three were stopped around 8p.m. because the vehicle had "fictitious plates." Fitzgerald said officers ran the Vehicle Identification Number and found the vehicle matched one of the victims in the double homicide.
Those arrested are identified as: 20-year-old Demarius Cummings, and 19-year-olds Lonnie Harris and James Broadnax.
All three suspects have been charged with Capital Murder and are being transported to Garland for questioning along with the victim's car.
