Smith County Felon Round Up

More than 20 dangerous felons are off the streets of Smith County tonight, thanks to a joint effort of local and federal law enforcement agencies.

In the past two days, the US Marshall's office tells us that 28 felony warrants have been served in this round up.

"Fugitives have a high propensity to commit new offenses because they can't work legitimately," said Deputy US Marshall Anton Slavich. "They're generally repeat offenders, these people that we go after...This wouldn't have been possible without the help of local law enforcement agencies here in Smith County."

Most of the felons were wanted on outstanding warrants for violent crimes.

This is a partial list of those arrested. This list will be updated as the names are released.
