Smith County Asking For Help Catching Arsonists

Smith County Fire Investigators say they need your help catching a group of young arsonists.

Fire Marshal Jim Seaton suspects juveniles are targeting the Cotton Road Area, just south of Tyler Memorial Park off Highway 64 west.

Two abandoned homes within yards of one another have already burned to the ground.

The first, this past March - the second, just two days ago.

Officials say they want to put a end to it before the situation gets worse.

"We do not have any information on these juveniles at this time, but we're requesting the public's help in identifying these indviduals so we can stop this before civilians or firefighters become injured or killed," said Seaton today.

If you have any information or see any suspicious activity, contact the Smith County Fire Marshal's office.
