Woman Allegedly Stabbed After Disturbance

Yesterday, Tyler Police responded to 2906 Frankston Highway where a woman had been stabbed during a disturbance. Police were told by Beverly Garrett, 56, of Tyler, that she was involved in a fight with an acquaintance when a knife was used on her. Garrett said she had agreed to fight the black female, but did not know about the knife until she had been stabbed in the left shoulder.

Garrett's injury was not severe and she was treated at the scene. She refused to be transported to a local hospital. The suspect fled the scene on foot, but was identified by name.

Officers checked the area in an attempt to make an arrest, but failed to locate the suspect. The investigation is on-going.
