Teen Injured in I-20 Bus Wreck Leaves ETMC

One of two teens treated in Tyler hospitals after that fatal bus crash in Terrell, has been released. The two minors were among dozens of other kids who were heading to a Louisiana church camp when their charter bus driver lost control and hit a concrete pillar.

Seventeen year old Heather Hardesty left East Texas Medical Center over the weekend. And 17-year old Jeremy DeShazo, originally listed in critical condition, is now in fair condition at Mother Frances.

Investigators are now centering their case around the bus driver, 51-year old Ernest Carter. Witnesses say Carter was standing up, adjusting his mirrors before the crash happened. Toxicology tests also revealed traces of cocaine and valium in his system.
