Motorcyclists Leads Cops On High Speed Chase

An East Texas motorcyclist led Smith County Sheriff's Deputies on a high speed chase.

Deputies say the man took off from a home on Big Eddy Road Tuesday night.

The chase went north on Highway 155, then onto Grande Boulevard, with the motorcyclist speeding through a residential area along Robert E. Lee drive.

Authorties say the man crashed while trying to make a quick turn on Jeff Davis Drive.

Deputies say the man has several outstanding warrants and now faces "evading detention" charges.  They have not released the man's name.

We are told he was hospitalized with non life-threatening injuries.
