Some Restaurants Have Problems, Others Ace Inspector's Test

Mazzio's Pizza at 1702 S. Jackson in Jacksonville was inspected May 22nd. Various meats were tested between 48-55F. Should be 45F or below. Those meats were discarded. Also, thermometers needed to be properly provided or calibrated. Mazzio's score was an 89.

Golden Corral at 2404 Beaumont in Jacksonville was inspected May 22. Various foods were held from 53-65F. Should be 45F or below. Food was discarded. Also, no soap at prep sink and ants were seen on a shelf near the food area, including in cake icing. Golden Corral's score was an 89.

McDonald's at 402 S. Jackson in Jacksonville was inspected June 13th. Improper handwashing was noted and there were leaks on the sink and on the rinse machine. Score was an 89. A recheck has not yet been filed.

In Palestine, we're happy to report no restaurants had a score lower than 93.

On the the restaurants that scored a perfect 100 on their latest inspections, including a former Blue Ribbon award winner, Stacy's Bar-B-Q at 1217 S. Jackson.

Also in Jacksonville, Bamboo Garden is a new restaurant that received a 100. They're at 506 E. Rusk. And in Palestine... Judi's Java Joint at 213 E.
