A first for Tyler Saturday, as some of Texas' best sharpshooters were looking to hit the target, old school "Robin Hood" style.
Texas's finest archers from ages eight to sixty were on hand to compete at the Rose City 900. The archery tournament was hosted by Shooting Stars Over Texas, and sponsored by the City of Tyler Parks Department.
Today's competition was a first for tyler.
"This is a really great day for us," Shooting Stars Over Texas member Chuck Brown said. "When we started, there were only 3-4 of us. This is really big for Tyler to have this, we have a great interest from hunters to come out and share their experiences with the kids."
This was Tyler's first National Archery Association sanctioned tournament.
