Suzanne Pundt, senior lecturer in biology at The University of Texas at Tyler, has been appointed to a national college honor society council seat.
Pundt will serve a four-year term as Region II secretary-treasurer for the 22-member Alpha Chi National Council, which acts as the governing body for the co-educational academic society.
A UT Tyler faculty member since 1982, Pundt currently serves as co-sponsor for the university's Texas Alpha Xi Chapter of Alpha Chi.
She holds a bachelor of science in medical technology from Texas A&M University and a master of science in interdisciplinary studies from UT Tyler.
The Alpha Chi Honor Society has chapters at more than 300 colleges and universities in almost every state as well as Puerto Rico. UT Tyler's chapter began in 1976.
