A blood drive for the troops with the troops.
KLTV 7 teamed up with Carter Blood care and Lowe's to host a blood drive in Tyler Memorial Day.
The Marines, the Air Force Reserve and the Texas Army National Guard were on hand to help convince East Texans to give.
"I think Carter Blood Care and the military have the same goal. They are mainstream of life for Americans. I think its good that we team up together especially since there are so many oversees serving right now that are in desperate need of blood," said Senior Airman Christina Foster, Air Force Reserves.
"The blood bank is always short of blood. It is an honor to be able to do this as often as possible. Today is very special to me being a veteran and wanting to help out the veterans," said Wayne Damon, Vietnam War Veteran giving blood.
Carter said the drive was especially important because during the summer months it's difficult to collect the amount of needed blood.
